Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy
Universal Materials Incubator Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "UMI") recognizes that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (hereinafter referred to as "DE&I") play an important role in realizing a sustainable society and are essential for corporate growth. As a member of the venture community, UMI aims to promote DE&I. Under our ESG policy, UMI does not tolerate any discrimination or harassment based on nationality, place of residence, gender, country of origin, ethnicity, skin color, religion, language, etc. Harassment is a human rights issue, and UMI does not tolerate any acts of harassment in any aspect of its business activities involving any stakeholders, including those within UMI and at its portfolio companies or prospective portfolio companies.
UMI will promote the following matters towards the realization of DE&I:

UMI supports the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and respects all forms of diversity, including race, sex, nationality, belief, age, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity. UMI does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, forced labor, unfair labor practices, or any other form of human rights violation.
In order to promptly identify, prevent, correct and remediate any actual or potential human rights violations that may arise in connection with UMI’s business and investment activities, UMI has established a framework for receiving reports and consultations regarding human rights issues.
UMI has established an external reporting channel for its officers and employees, with safeguards to ensure anonymity and protect whistleblowers. In addition, UMI makes its reporting channel available to stakeholders who are affected or may be affected by its business and investment activities, including portfolio companies, business partners, outsourced service providers, and their workers.
UMI will not use a whistleblower’s personal information for any purpose other than reviewing and investigating the reported matter and implementing corrective and remedial measures. Furthermore, no whistleblower will be subjected to any disadvantageous treatment as a result of making a report or seeking consultation.
UMI will endeavor in good faith to coordinate with all parties relevant to reported matters in order to rectify human rights violations and ensure access to remedies for all affected persons.
