Universal Materials Incubator Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Shosuke Kiba, hereinafter “UMI”), a venture capital firm specializing in the materials and chemical industries, has entered into a business alliance agreement with the Indian venture capital firm 3one4 Capital, aiming to build an integrated supply chain driven by innovation.
In India’s rapidly growing market, both firms will engage in discovery, evaluation, and investment in promising startups and technologies in the fields of climate tech, cutting-edge technology, semiconductors, next-generation manufacturing, and digital transformation (DX). This alliance will promote the fusion of Japanese materials and manufacturing technologies with Indian IT capabilities and data utilization. The two firms will mutually support the market entry and expansion of Japanese companies in India, as well as Indian companies in Japan. Both parties will host bidirectional innovation programs and workshops to promote collaboration among startups, companies, and research institutes in both countries. The firms will share knowledge in fields such as carbon management, semiconductors, green chemistry, and the use of digital twin technologies for the research and development of sustainable materials, and are also considering the future establishment of a fund aimed at addressing social challenges in India.
3one4 Capital and UMI will collaborate through technologies and industries in which their respective countries excel, and will contribute to the development of both Japan and India going forward.
